iLGM Leadership seminar held in Mpumalanga: 19 October 2010
Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 10:05AM The Institute for Local Government Management of South Africa (iLGM) in partnership with the Mpumalanga Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Gert Sibande District Municipality and Vodacom held a successful iLGM Leadership Seminar in Secunda on 19 October 2010. There was a targeted audience of more than 200 stakeholders drawn from across the Province of Mpumalanga. Admission thereto was free of charge in view of the generosity of the three organisations that partnered with iLGM.
The rationale behind this event was informed by one of the resolutions of the Mpumalanga Local Government Summit of February 2010 which, inter alia, emphasised the need for support of local government institutes with a view to enhancing the professionalization of municipal management. The guest speaker was a leadership guru, world-renowned motivational speaker and best-selling author, Dr Myles Munroe, who addressed the audience on the theme: “RESTORING THE FOUNDATIONS OF MORAL LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT”.
According to our plan, we will be holding an elective iLGM Mpumalanga Chapter Re-launch Conference before the end of the 2010 calendar year.
